Title: Iron on covering....
Post by: Terry Bolin on April 01, 2008, 06:54:02 AM
Okay, I 've been using Monokote since it first came out, BUT I do not like the way the silver color irons on and or anything about it. doesn't shrink around corners as well as the other colors and changes color where it applies to wood. What brand of iron on products have you had good luck with?
The Econokote is not durable enough so looking for other choices.... for silver mostly.
Thanks, Terry

I just covered the wing on my new Oriental with Ultracote silver,, Having played with monokote silver and gold, I can state catagorically that the Ultracote is way easier to work with and IMHO as strong as monokote. It also seems resistant to Monokotes issue of when restuck it moves the color away from the clear carrier layer

Sig Aerokote is pretty good too - I stopped using monokote and started with Aerokote- a lot easier to use - lower temps, good finish and strong

Oracover is also very good......just a little more expensive
