Title: Hot Glue - be careful!
Post by: Tom Perry on November 01, 2006, 08:02:54 PM
The subject of hot glue came up on the general forum and as not to hijack that thread I thought I would offer a safety suggestion here.

Folks, hot glue dripping on exposed flesh will be one of the most painful things you may ever experience.  %^

Best never to be very careful as when it gets on you it will stick and continue to cook until it cools.  It will cause instant blistering and if you try to peel or wipe it off it will cause skin and flesh to go with it.  :'(

Always keep a basin of cold water on hand when using this stuff.  If you get some on you try to submerse the affected body part immediately.  If you can't submerse the area you can also keep a sponge soaking in the water to wet the affected area.  or at least pour water on the glue until cool.  f~

When I've used at work I use gloves the ones that fit close to the hand like CLC brand.
