Title: Hawker Typhoon flap fairings
Post by: Leester on July 29, 2007, 11:14:33 AM
I have the flap fairings temp in place, the plans don't show a shape of them in relation to the flaps which are tapered 3/8 to 1/8. Should I taper the fairings the same as the flaps ? or slightly larger ? TIA

That's nice woodwork you've done so far. I don't know how scale you want to get the fairings but I suspect that pretty would be sufficient. Probably I would center the fairings the way you've done in the picture then trace a line top and bottom from the flap and then shape to blend.

Thanks Frank: I just wanted to be sure before I did any cutting, sanding etc.

Leester,

(I mistyped "Keester"....do you even get that?)     ;-)

By the quality of your woodwork, whatever YOU choose is going to be fine with me !!!

Very nice work.  Keep the photos coming.

Cheers.
