Source for pre-cut Maple?
« on: April 20, 2015, 04:04:06 PM »
I've been to all the hobby shops in my area, and no one stocks maple for engine bearers.  I don't know much about grading wood, and I don't particularly care to buy maple at the lumber yard and rip it down.  Any good sources for maple engine bearer stock?

I've been getting mine from either Bud Nosen Models in 12", 18", or 24" lengths or Brodak for 12" lengths.

Brodaks, Sig, National Balsa.  Probably more.  All mail-order, though.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Thanks for all the replies, Guys.  I guess I'll order some from Brodak, as I've been kinda thinking about ordering a couple of other things from there.
