Hi guys!

Wire or solids? and how thich do they need to be? Would, for example, 0.018" wire work?

.018 is plenty heavy enough for an Akromaster and will work fine. Personally, I'd stay away from the solids.

Thanks for your replies guys! I found a roll of 0.021 cl cable/wire (do one say wire or cable?) so it will be flexible leadouts.

The politically correct term is "wire rope".

I just built one with scrap .018" flying line for leadouts. I'll be flying on .012" so anything over .018" is overkill. I've always used .018" leadouts for even the most powerful org 15-size engines. The weight difference isn't all that much, bit it's on the wrong side of a small plane. Double trouble.
