I'm using fiberglass wheelpants (for the first time) and am doing a dope finish. Do I have to start the finish with a couple of coats of clear dope or can I start with primer?

i just painted wheel pants for the first time with dupli-color cans They are the pants from my vector 40 arc. Didnt really have to go with any primer, I just wiped them down with thinner, let dry and spray.

I make plugs and lay up my own, but I'm weird that way. ;D

Randy, all I can say is it's a darned good thing you and I don't live close to each other or we'd be molding new stuff that would scare the pants (pun intended) off all the guys! from many of you posts I gather we both experiment in the same mode - FULL STEAM AHEAD!!! S?P S?P S?P S?P

Will,
Yea, Dan Rutherford once told me I was the only guy he had ever seen that one day would get some wild idea and the next was building a full boogie (his words) stunt plane complete with 20 point finish around it. It seems I don't tend to do stuff half way much. I'm trying to reform.
And I've seen some of the stuff you've posted. We clearly were twins separated at birth.

Randy,
I hope we get to fly together, or just tell lies together sometime on this side! And I'll bring the epoxy! LL~ LL~ LL~
