Doc's Project
« on: December 18, 2013, 10:18:41 AM »
Well here are the pics finally I've taken up to this point.
1st pic is start of leading edge.   2nd pic is half of leading edge being molded.  3rd and 4th pics is the parts.   The last pic is before I put the bell crank assembly in place.   You only get one guess as to what it is going to be.

Bottom wing for a larger Ringmaster bipe.  He's going to use a Fox 78 with 3 line control.

Apologies to Doc for hijacking his thread, and not sure if I've missed an 'in' joke somewhere, but, with respect, thats not strictly true Mark. The 'Bf' designation was used by the company/manufacturer, but the Luftwaffe never used Bf, referring to the aircraft as the Me 109.  There workshop manuals/spares lists, ditto..

 Phil,

I'm sure Mark just meant there's no such thing as an ME-109 in his personal Air Force.
Believe me, he definitely knows there is such thing as an ME-109. y1

My error with my little jab, his is a BF, and he has even provided photo documentation of his finished example!!! ;D

 Doc,

Sorry to mess up your thread, my real guess on your project would have to be Ringmaster as well. Either that or something in the direct bloodline.

Carry on, and please keep us posted. H^^

Hi Wayne, Yeah, I did wonder if there was a bit of leg pulling in there somewhere! I've only built one Ringmaster and Docs wing looks the same. Merry Christmas to all  H^^

Yes, this is my version of the S-1 Ringmaster.   Did not want to cut up the one I have been flying that someone else built.  But, thanks to Mel Duval I was given an S-1 kit that had been started.  All I needed was the leading edge and trailing edges.   Have been comparing the other parts to the RSM kit I have gotten.   The kit ribs are kind of poly wog type ribs.  Did you know the elevator is wider than the stabilizer.   More later as I just completed another leading edge in about a tenth of the time of the first one.  It is fun rough cutting the little rib lets.

I now have the four pieces in one unit now.   Also the hardest part is now starting the finishing.  Weight as it hangs is just 11.4 opunces.

Nope, not the bath room door.   That is one of the expensive Sutherland Lumber doors on the front of the shop.  Plane is hanging by the lead outs on my coat hanger hook.

Getting old sucks.   Could not remember where I had  put this.   But, will load pics of the Ringmasters I will have ready for this summer.  The pink one is scratch built and the blue was broke at the marathon last year.   Also Dave I have my plans from Barry for the Super Ringmaster.   I am a little slow on the Ringmaster Imperial.   Want to make Walter proud of me.   Finish is Monokote and Rustoleum.
