Laser Burn and CA?

OK, I know this has been covered before, but not being a kit builder I guess I didn't pay much attention. I just started a quickee laser cut kit for a special event and guess what? My CA doesn't stick! I don't use the CA for glue per se, but rather as pins to hold things down while the Pica white glue dries. Seems I remember seeing something somewhere about sanding off the burnt stuff. But that didn't seem to work too well either. Am I missing something?  HB~>

How old is the glue ? They say refridgeration prolongs it's life.

Ward....I believe that a light hit with some sandpaper would heal things....

I had the same results once...and the response shouldn't be to "use more" or to add accelerator...

Problem solved! I think...

It appears the Leester was right. The glue died. It was Sig thin. It was on my bench (used, but closed up) for about a year or so. (I don't build with it, just use it to pin things down.) I tried it on fresh clean balsa and no cure. The only way I could get it to kick was to soak one piece of wood with kicker and lay a bead between each piece. I've had thin go bad before, but it usually manifested itself by getting too thick to flow.

Looks like you have already discovered the problem. First time I ran into that I was a bit shocked as like you the CA always thickened up when it went bad. This stuff looked fine but wouldn't kick, almost drove me crazy till I tried a new bottle.

I have built a bunch with laser cut wood and CA, never had a problem, in fact I read someplace to not sand off the burnt areas. Guess you just have to do what you feel is right for you.
