Scroll saw

I got real frustrated as a kid cutting out print wood parts... heavy hand, light hand, dull blade, sharp blade, broken double edged razor blade, knives, Xacto..all did ok and equally sucked...mostly cuz the wood density, thickness  and grain....ply parts were near impossible even when "sort of" die cut

Dad noticed my frustration and suggested trying to cut out all the parts over large... at least the ones that did not print edge to edge.... once all the parts were off the sheet...very easy to sand to printed shape with 150Grit

Later in life I got an old print wood kit...but now had a scroll saw...I still cut all the(possible) parts large and sanded to final print shape

My father in law has a scroll saw that I have used on occasion that works great. Tim

Laser kits have spoiled most of us.    But, I still like to get the old Ex-Acto out and cut parts.
