Title: Control Surfaces
Post by: Bryan Higgins on March 10, 2008, 01:38:19 PM
Hello Modelers

I need help with my flaps and elevator movement.

Flaps move 3/4" each way.
Elevator moves 1 1/8" each way.

Do i have enough movement ?

                            Thank You  Bryan Higgins

That sounds like loads, maybe even too much.

I usually set my models up with 30 degrees flap (1/3 of the flap length in either direction) and start off with the elevator at 1:1 (30 degrees).

I read somewhere that more than 30 degrees for flaps is ineffective so that's why I stick with this number.
I usually allow to increase the elevator movement to 45 degrees, to give the model more urge in corners, if it needs it.

1/3 of the flap length. and 1:1 for flap and elevator. 30 degrees.

Thank You , I now it sounds dumb but it's nowhere on the plans
or manual. So i been digging through my books. Just want to
get things right before i move on.

I appreciate the help.   Bryan
