While I was at Brodaks I saw a stunning Cavalier by Bob Dixon. John Simpson has a nice one as well. I bought 2 Brodaks .40s and thought I would build a Cavalier for the one I have left. Tom Morris had his kits only the were for electric. So with a little coaxing he took the fuse out and sold me the rest.
Today I got home at 10 AM and around 12 I started to build it. I have the wing almost complete and tomorrow I will do the fuse. I hope to have it ready for the NATS so I can fly Classic. If not there is always the next contest.
I will post pics later. Take my word for it. Its a easy build.

Is this the one Bob had with him? Bob and I flew together when I moved to Georgia for a while because of Katrina. He got that kit from Tom built it and finished it. It is beautiful in person... I have seen John fly his Cavalier several times at contests and I have never seen a ship that does squares as good as that Cavalier. I know the pilot has a lot to do with that too but Tom and I discussed it a couple of years ago and he says the model just does squares really well.

Look at John Simpsons Cavalier next time you see him. Notice the tail number, it might be as high as 14 now. I own #11 and have two of my own plus a kit I've had since 1998 I got from Tom Morris. It just screams CLASSIC. On the front cover of Model Aviation, August 1962, is a photo of three young lads, taken at a big contest here in Huntsville, ALabama. One of those lads is John simpson , first place with his new plane that had yet to be named. He came up with the name on the way home. I'll let him tell you how it came about, funny story. H^^
John is up to #17 now.
He put in a flight in the wind at Brodak's that scared the crap out of the peanut gallery watching everyone fly.
