Title: Carbon veil over SLC?

For open bays, I generally use Silkspan doped over SLC/laminating film - but what about carbon veil? Any reason not to dope that over the SLC instead?  Apart from the cool-factor of a model covered entirely in carbon, would there be other advantages to make it worthwhile?

Put the SLC over the silk span and you won't have to paint it.
