Ka -10 closer to finish
« on: April 14, 2013, 05:08:13 AM »
G/Day guys
Finally getting closer to finishing my electric KA- 10 .Just a little canopy shape change from the original plan . Not sure of the final weight is going to be ,but a guess a this stage a little heavy at the low 60s with battery,Little disappointed but that's the way it goes. :)

 Regards Steve

Looking good.   If that is a foam core wing, you can probably save a gram or two by removing the foam between the cap strips.   I did that on several planes.   But, then again, at that weight is should still fly well.   Maybe a little higher air speed and longer lines.

I would not recommend that. Ted built a KA-10 , cut out the foam between the capstrips, and it collapsed the aft part of the airfoil in places. Same with Todd Lee's silver Magnum/Mustang.

Looks great, Steve!

A couple questions:  Is it built from the Model Aviation plans?  Is it a Tom Dixon kit?

Thanks!

It was just a foam wing and plan from Tom ,not sure how close it is to the original plane .

Is that the one where the wind blew all the remnants of Todd's plane into the soybean field? I was not there that year but I heard you had a good time too.
