Title: Beautiful & Light finish...cheap and pretty easy!
Post by: Steve Helmick on February 05, 2007, 08:50:13 PM
Picture below is Mike Haverly's new Barnstormer, first flown last Saturday (in a drizzle). It's .25FP powered, stock muffler, stock engine but ST clone NV assy. The finish is clear dope with about 10% orange dope mixed in. Mike said he just poured & stirred, until it looked orange. It looks like dyed silkspan, but it's not. All in the clear and pigmented dope added. Idea credit goes to "Fast" Eddie Ruane.... y1  The plane is pretty, and flew ok for the first two flights. Needs a flap tweek (no flaps!) and some other adjustments, but it looks quite promising, at 30 oz. There's another pic of it on the Flyinglines.com website already... LL~ Steve
