OK, Wayne, here it is. I didn't want to post it here as I'm sure there will be heat involved, but I could figure out how to send the pics as a PM.

I couldn't find the plans, but I do have all the templates weirdly. This is the fuse, the ribs (partially done) and the blocks that I plan (someday) to carve as a plug for a carbon cowl like the on sitting there. I had the stab and elevator build, but it is parts unknown (something that happens when something sits too long).

 That's really cool Randy, a very nice start toward a "Rare Bear" type version.

 I know it's all just roughed out and sitting there, but the canopy profile seems like it's kind of rocked forward to look right. There's a lot going on from the firewall forward too, looks really long. Is the rectangular cutout on the belly behind the wing a pipe exit? What engine is it setup for?

 Hopefully we'll all get to see this one finished at some point. If you've lost interest, maybe you'll just want to pack and ship it! ;D

WAyne,

The canopy is just plopped on the top. Not shaped really other than to the curve. Not glued on or anything. The nose just looks long. It's 10.25" from the leading edge to spinner. The interior is divided into two sections. One side takes the pipe, the other the controls. Oh, and yes the cutout is a pipe exit, though it would have to be enlarged, This was just a sort of pilot hole. I had planed to put a sort of radiator grid over the area. It was originally set up for a side mount, rear exhaust .65. I have a straight header (no rise) that would allow the pipe to be about perfect.

It's been sitting down there for a long time. Truth is, the fuse is ridiculously light (what you see on the foam blocks there weighs about 5oz). I probably should finish the thing, but I would do it differently now. I've been try to figure out a way to incorporate what I want without starting over from the beginning.

Randy, you need to talk to Ron Burn.  He builds stuff like that and it is very impressive.  You guys would have a lot in common.  He's the F4F guy on the forums.

 Yeah, it seems like everytime I build anything I'd do it a little different if I did it again. In this case I think I'd just follow through by looking at it, round two would probably only come out heavier. What is the wingspan on the "Bear-toad"?

Wayne,

It's big. The wing is about 700 squares. Very Al Rabe-ish with pretty big flaps and such. Pretty accurate shapes overall, but the wing is bigger. More like the original Bearcat. I thought about doing a clipped wing sort of the like the later Rare Bear, but I don't think it would have enough area and would be pretty low aspect ratio.

If you want a low aspect ratio, just use the 4:1 of the full-size warbird.

 Sounds like quite a monster Randy. Hopefully digging it out sparks up some interest again for you, this would be a very cool model to see done.
