Title: balance point
Post by: roger on May 26, 2008, 06:03:51 AM
VD~ive got the p-51-b from brodak , the plans say the balance point is 1/2 an inch back from the leading edge, but it still seems very nose heavy at that point. should i ad some weight to the back?. then again the plans say [it should slightly nose heavy] well how much is slightly??

Roger: What engine are you using ?? Slightly to me is just beyond balancing and it tips down. Remember balance with no fuel in the tank.

Hi Roger,

You probably know this already----

Nose heavy planes usually survive the first flights in fine condition #^,  tail heavy planes may not survive at all :'(.

Cheers,

Jim
