I've got the plans, but don't have them in front of me right now. Could you give more of a description of what you are asking on the 3/16" Is this bracing for the gear or do they look like ribs?

An OS40VF (or similar) on a pipe would be fine. The plane has to be kept light (52-55oz range) and for this weight, a piped 40 is fine. For a non-piped engine for this plane, I'd think about an ST51 or similar. If the cash is available, I'd think about a PA or RO-Jett 51 or 61 on a muffler. Or maybe a Stalker 61RE or similar. Depends on what you have and what you are comfortable with, but on a muffler, I wouldn't consider anything smaller than a 51.

They are to simulate the "half ribs" of the I-Beamer and maintain the LE airfoil.  Fit them between the LE and spar as shown and sand them to match the regular ribs.  I haven't looked at the plans in a while, but I did spend a LOT of time looking at them when the plane was first built.

I built his "little" Junar which was an inlline design and smaller with a D-tube wing.

Since the published Junar (especially his "White" one) had a pretty much unmodified USA-1 wing, I had planned on building mine with the USA-1 I-Beam wing.  But I built the *little* one instead.

My bad!  I haven't looked at those in years, and I should have before I opened my rather large mouth!    Like I said, I didn't pay any attention to them because I was going to build it as an I-Beamer.  I really have no clue on them, now.....

From what I can see from your attached print copy, it looks like they left off the dotted lines that would show the half ribs that help to support the upper and lower sheeting. I assume that there is sheeting or at least thata what it looks like from here.

I have those planes too. If I were going to build it I would leave them off.
