The green "Maverick" was at the 2002 KOI, and Richard is certainly an artist.

And the closer you get, the better it looks.  (see below)

Jose....thanks for posting all the vintage photos....they are very enjoyable.  You do
good to remember all the names, years, etc.

Cheers.

All these nice pictures and I'm crying for more.....I wish someone had a "Dragon Lady" picture to share. I think it was Richard's best looking ship, they're always up at the front at the Nats appearance judging. "Dragon Lady" had a way of blending the colours from white to yellow to a peach/pinkish colour that I just can't figure out how he did it. Similar to Wilson's blending of black to black cherry to red on the cowling to a yellow fuselage on his "Hunter Eight". The blend of the colour change doesn't show, it just happens. Charley Reeve's OTS planes do this and underneath it all is "USA" or "OTS" faintly showing through. I think it's talent, although all of them will say "aw, it's nothin', really" .
Thanks for these pictures, Modesto.

I agree. I thought the green/white one flew awfully well, and probably better than the others, at least from the outside. Of course the 30 gallons of fuel didn't hurt anything either.

I agre dg, it's one of those finishes that looks better the closer you get.

In each picture it looks a little different as some of lthe colors disappear and then reappear.  Especially the checks.  I like it a lot.   #^ #^ #^ H^^
