   Whoa! Bless you my son!

The junior flyer in the '82 Walker Cup Fly off, Sean Elliot, is a Vice President with the EAA, and is still director of Flight Operations  for them also.

Thanks for sharing! Got more? These are real treasures. Somebody tell Wynn Paul about these!

Yeah, I saw Todd's name in the '87 results. I think Todd went on the win both Junior and Senior at the NATS, and has been in the Top 5 and was on the USA Team, can't remember the year. Interesting coincidence, Sean Elliot was one of Todd's instructors when Todd went to Embry-Riddle.

Boy Jared, you sure do bring back a lot of memories.   I remember your Dad now,  at my age I couldn't quite get it together.  He probably doesn't remember me as I was mainly into racing and carrier at the time.  Was just starting to play around with stunt.  If he is doing okay tell him the old DOC Holliday says hi.

The white Epic is Jim Armor's I think. Beautiful airplane and was a construction article in Flying Models, I do believe.

Jared,
Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to upload those photos for us to enjoy.
I especially liked seeing the planes from the Northeast with their "George Barris" graphics and "pointy" features. Those things just oozed character, even if the canopies are just painted on!
The Nats scoreboards are another interesting subject---------just reading the names and results.
I really really appreciate this thread, thanks again.
I see people my age out there climbing mountains and zip lining and here I am feeling good about myself because I got my leg through my underwear without losing my balance

That's what my dad was thinking as well but he wasn't for sure either.

Your a bit of a celebrity around our house Les!  I grew up watching Wired for Excitement and wore the VHS tape out watching your 40 point landing over and over with your 3 bladed black and white Stiletto.  My dad of course is a huge fan of the Stiletto and built 3 of them as pictured above...The Stiletto and Windy's black and white Sweeper 900 are all the rave around our house lol

The 2 on the outside left Sean Elliot and right outside Todd Lee

The left fellow is not Sean Elliot, but Nat Gifford. Nats' dad ran the Nat's for quite a few years.
I'm the one with the trophy in the middle.

Ahha I see that on the score board I will update that, I was told it was Sean Elliot in an earlier post.  and Congrats Paul on the victory!  Is that beautiful plane in the picture still flying?

Well, I still have it. Haven't flown it for nearly 20 years. It is still in good condition. I am waiting to use it in N-30 competition in a couple of years.

Well, I still have it. Haven't flown it for nearly 20 years. It is still in good contrition. I am waiting to use it in N-30 competition in a couple if years.

con·tri·tion
 noun \kən-ˈtri-shən\

: the state of feeling sorry for bad behavior : the state of being contrite

I was going to point out your grammar faux pas Paul, but then after I looked it up, I guess maybe it's apropos for a plane named Bad News that was so mean to all those other pilots.

Perhaps you can go easy on it, and let it out early on parole?  LL~

Awesome set of pic's Jared! What a gold mine! Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful pictures, Jared!  Thanks so much for sharing them.  A few good memories in them for me that I appreciate as well.   I've seldom taken pictures of my airplanes so love to find some I didn't know about.  I stole a few for my personal use.  Hope you don't mind.  Very cool pix of your dad with the Angels and T-Birds.  I was fortunate enough to fly at an airshow in front of the Thunderbirds at Edward's AFB many years ago with that Citation V that you've included pictures of.  Didn't get any flying pix like your Dad's but do have a B and W one of my airplane with the F-16s in the background.  It was cool that my ship had a red, white and blue motif like the T-Birds.

Thans again for posting.

I have a couple of these EU-1A's. Rossi 60's on Macs pipes, they roll really well, a little large for the power but haul downhill. R/C Pattern has a Classic Pattern event, now these are Classic!

Jared,

Got some names to go with your first group of pictures starting after Windy's ships you identified.  Gary McClellan's Sigma 1; Glen Meador's Eagle; Stan Powell's Dove (this may be the very first 20 pointer although I'm uncertain if this was the year Stan pulled that off); Bob McDonalds ship (about80% certain I remember that); Jim Armour's Eclipse; Paul Walker's Frustration's End.

In August 2009 I owned that Mike Rogers Patternmaster for a little while.
Mike had an attorney buddy named John ???? that he stayed with on his South Florida visits. I believe Mike may have gifted the plane to him so when John died the RC club he belonged to disposed of all his model stuff. I ended up with "the control line plane". In turn,I passed it on to the late Steve Schlessler so I'm assuming Steves brother Pete has it now.
