PA Scores
« on: January 12, 2007, 09:39:14 PM »
Looking at some of the old Nats photos I notice winning scores to be in the high 400's.  Is the flying better now days or the scores just inflated as compared to the older nats wins?

Thanks!

Bill's pretty much right on. The flying is better overall I think, but I suspect that we aren't dinged as much for minor mistakes. Also, the power is much more reliable and as such, planes are somewhat less susceptable to the vargaries of weather.

I wonder if  that's really true. There usta be a '600 Club'...in California, I think. You had to score over 600 in a contest to become a member, as I understand it. Well, 20 points less for appearance must have killed that. I've seen scores in the low 570's (Howard vs. PW last September). Bidness is picken' up, IMO.  y1 Steve
