Title: New kid on the block or Old Grunter?
Post by: Leo Mehl on January 29, 2009, 11:16:50 AM
This is Don Curry and is part of the Grunt Pack In Portland. He just retired so now he has more time to build and fly. He also builds and flies RC but likes to fly controline. He also has built ne Arctic Fox but has not flown it yet. He is right at the "i'm not quite as dizzy" stage and he is saving it for later on. He's a great guy and we enjoy his company. We now have about five retirees that get togather 3 times a week and talk about airplane trains and aches and pains. The wifes are glad we get out of the house! HB~>

Leo is OK. You just have to bribe him with a trip to the hobbie shop and you are freinds for life. I have been in his work shop and he has some realy kool stuf up there. I saw his new - old Rebel in the bones. He built it without pans or drawings frome an old photo. That is what I call sratch building.

We used to buy silk span for .10 cents a sheet, now it's almost $3 a sheet....and it goes bad if not stored correctly. I buy mine the week I'm going to dope. I don't want it laying around getting cooking grease that floats in the air to get near silk span. The Brodak silk span seems to me to me to light. K&S still makes the best. Interstate hobbies has some. HOPE to see you guys sometime this winter..I've had a head infection......again  ~^ ~^ H^^ LL~
