Large HD scans on big screen
« on: December 19, 2011, 12:02:49 AM »
Over the years I have taken many picture and a lot of them are on film. Today I took my 8 gigyyyyyyy biting plug in drive loaded with some of these scanned picture to my brother in laws house for an observation on his 60 inch screen. Some of these picture were taken with a 35mm camera on slide film and some were taken with a pentax 645 camera taken with 400 speed film. Some pictures were prints a small as 2" x 3" and were scanned on my epson scanner. I was ammmmmmmmmmaaaaaased at the resuts. All of these pictures were sharp and of the hihest quality that I have ever seen in a digital format. A lot of these pictures were taken with a Nikon and also a minolta camera. I konow that this does not have a lot to do with model airplanes but I got to view some of the old black and white pictures on a really big screen an they were of a lot better quality than I thought they would be. A picture of my Dad and I on his Harly-2x3 Photo

On the same scanner an I can scan them 4 at a time and it takes about 5 min.A lot of the 35mm slide files are in the 52 to 54 megabite range an cannot be posted on stunt hanger unless they are downsized. That is probably why they looked so good on the big screen.

My dad was  an auto mechanic most of his life and worked on cars and tracters most of his life. He was really a good mechanic and used to buy cars and fix them up. I dont think he ever owned a new car. but they all were cars that ran really good. His last car was a Studebaker with overdrive-1947. It got really good milage but only 50 mph against a strong wind.

Leo,

What resolution did you scan at?

Did you scan "B&W" photo or just normal color?

I love B&W photography.

It's like creating Art without even trying!

Great!

Scanner has settings for quality and B&W and colar and I can scane 4 slides at a time. I to like monochrome photos and some of those old photagraphers were really good at there medium. This is a Epson scanner and will scan anything up to 8 1/2  X 14 inches Really a good bargen. My Grandaughter at the Age of 9.
