Our old buddy from Savannah GA, Bob Harpe sent these to me awhile back.
The Tropicaire pic would have been in late 1972.
The Stiletto photo would be from the Spring of 1973.
 The picture of Bob Harpe and Tom Dixon was probably taken around 1971.
I had sent these photos to Don two weeks ago and when he didn't post them I became a bit concerned.

I sure do enjoy seeng these 70's pictures. Especially the pants.
Also the planes and the tone of the photos just appeals to me. That Tropicaire just is fantastic. So pure.
I have been inspired by the trousers of the 70s flyers and am on a quest to dress for the event.

In the 90's it was hard to get new MD-80's because Bob Crandall's American Airlines had so much of the production capacity ordered, so TWA bought some MD-80's from BWIA. They had real... personality when we first got them. I just flew one the other day, still in action. Thanks for the great pics and cool shirts, Les.
(Loved the Tropicaire, didn't it have chrome gear and plated gear doors? A Junior High fantasy ship for me...)

Sorry , I'm getting on this thread late . During the early 70's , I flew control-line in Trinidad as a junior member of the club,  "The Modelers Association of Trinidad and Tobago" (MATT). There was an annual contest there sponsored by BWIA and I thought I saw you fly the Tropicaire there but I could be mistaken. There were a number of flyers from the states that came down for this event. It was a long time ago and I was probably about 12 at the time !
