I think the field is still in use by the RC group.  The last contest attended we had an impromptu 100 mile Shoestring race.   Hardly any body there to fly control line.  It was out in the boonies and will never forget the first time there.   I think Bob Simmons was one of the last of the CL flyers.  They haven't had a contest for CL in years.  About a 5 hour drive for me.  The drive around the circle was one way.

Just did a google maps  and it is still there,  the circle and RC strip.   It is due west of Pawnee Rock KS which is SW of Great Bend KS.    Don't know if Jeff Perez is still in Larned  KS or not.

I remember flying carrier and racing there in the early 80's.  It took me a while to find it on Google Earth (38°15'56.9"N 99°02'43.1"W).  Looks pretty abandoned to me.  MACK seems to have a newer R/C strip on the SW edge of Great Bend, KS (38°20'41.7"N 98°48'35.6"W0.  Bob Simmons was the local CL guy back then.  Haven't heard of any CL activity that way in years.
