Anybody else have this problem? And I am still building. I am thinking of checking into MAA ( Model Aircraft Anonymous ).

Now for your next models, start with Half A's and go smaller.

My amount of models are not that big but I showed this to my wife and she said "This guy is as sick as you are." Only thing is I store mine upstairs. You can never have too many Stunters.

. Leo, I do my building upstairs in what used to be a back bedroom. I do the finishing in the basement or the garage. I keep trying to get my wife to let me hang some of them in the livingroom. She almost let me the last time I asked her. She said no way. Jim; I told Lova that we needed to add on to the basement, and she said how do we do that? I said, we can if we think we can. When you have this, ahem, disease, your rationale goes out the window.

Your 2 photos look great. You can get at least twice as many stunters in that space. Keep Building, you are almost there!

jeez, you guys got it wrong, you need to let your local intermidiate flyers help you out! Ask Leo he knows, heck I cant build fast enough to get a stockpile! I have had a couple guys add to my collection and now I am finally getting there, I have one of Randy powells High aspect stunters over my workbench, a Cardinal profile leaning against the entertainment center, a Magnum above the couch, Pat Johnstons P-40 Saito powered, in the daughters room, Oh and Randys Freelancer on the wall next to the couch. My Oreintal was above the headboard in the bedroom but it didnt come home last time in one peice so its relegated to the parts bin in the garage. My P-40 Q that I built last year, affectionatly known as the "Martian butterfly" Hangs above the tv in its shattered state, Hey the wings look great still and the girlfriend helped pick out the colors so she wants it there!. I have my unfinished 109 profile above the plants in the living room too. hm now let see, I have room for at least 4 more in the living room ceiling, and I havent started in teh bedroom ceiling yet. I better get busy

I agree with the others. You have a pretty good *start* on a model airplane collection. With some time, you will get there! Just hang in there and keep building. It just takes some builders longer than others to get their collection up to speed..... but with perserverance, you will make it!

Jim..in your first pic on the left side..about 3 down..Is that a "Diablo"?....If it is..how does it perform...looked at the plans,
but haven't talked with anyone with hands on experience...Its a neat looking shape...

Yes Joe; That is an El-Diablo. They are very good flying planes if kept light. Mine weighs about 32oz., and fly's pretty well, however it could easily be built at 28oz. or less. It is a very fun plane to fly and very cool looking in the air. It has a fairly thin wing, but quite a bit of wing area, so I would say it was a way better performer than most old timers.

I was OK until Roy DeCamera laid two stunters on me. I think If I put a few in the attic I will be OK for a couple of years. I only have 8 planes that are flyable and am working on three more. I must be nuts,nuts,nuts, I tell ya I am Nutty/nuts

Since this poor thread has been brought out again, I thought I would tell you that I am doing better now. I have only built 4 planes since these pictures were taken in Dec. 07. My doctor says I'm in recovery, but I could have a set back at any time and go on a building binge. I didn't tell him about the two dresser drawers full of engines that I need to build planes for. Or the stash of balsa big enough to keep me busy for the next 50 years. I may need to order some more plans though, as I probably only have about 40 or 50. You know, just to look at. The doctor said it would be OK to look at one plan a day, but if I start to drool I am to roll it up immediately, and put it away for the day, and not to look at that one again for awhile. I hope this finds all of you guys doing better too. Hang in there, were all in this together.

Ok I can offer some help - IF you want it.

I think the way they are stacked could be an issue. A fellow flyer got me onto this - From the wall - build a rack with 2 arms that come out 3 - 4 feet. You then slide the aircraft onto it back to the wall - spinner facing the floor being held up via the stab hanging free. You can stack 3 - 4 full sized stunters on each on.

If you have a wall you can stagger the models only 4 feet across - Ive got 3 sets of these each holding 3 models ( 9 all up ) getting to some is a pain - I have to remove some to get to others, but they stack nicely that way.

Thanks for that PJ. I have been looking for a way to get a few more models in a smaller space. That just might be the ticket. I also have room in my garage for a few planes, and that would work well there. You just gotta work all the angles you know. LOL

Actually, Bill, NO. Well, some .061-powered ones in there. The biggest ones you see are probably the LittleAxe (yellow wings, black and red fuse, 36" span, Norvel .061) and the Skywriters (30" span, 2 of them: white wings, yellow fuse; blue wings, white fuse,m both with Norvel .049s). The LittleAxe looks so big because those are all .020-size planes hanging under/around it!

I do have 3 "oversize" models, a flapped stunter with the traditional Fox stunt .35, a combat wing with an old Fox Rocket .35 on it, and a delta rat racer that used to have a RR Torp .40 on it (hot-hot-hot, 120 mph +), I traded that engine for the stunt Fox. But those are hanging out in my garage, the "mothball" fleet. Haven't flown any of them in years.

UI have a serious "space" problem........ more planes than space....... and three news ones coming on line...... This doesn't count anything smaller than .35 size. I don't have a clue as to where the 1/2As will go! Of course, I can hide the Queen Bee just about anywhere, it's so small I could lose it in plain site..........

At least I should have two large "PAMPA" stunters and a Classic I-Beamer done as soon as I can get a new air compressor and finish them up. Haven't had a new stunt plane dedicated to PAMPA class flying since 1997 (but it has been a very good one! LOL!!)......

Amazing how posts get reserrected. I thought I cured my problem with a shop in the back yard. But, with the city and the wife could not build as big as I wanted. I wanted an all metal Butler building, 20X40 with 12 foot ceiling.
