Gerald Phelps MADE A HUGE HIT WITH THE NAVY with this beautiful Jet Styler...but I think he could have won the event...IF HE HAD WORN WHITE NURSE MAID PANTS AND A RED WHITE N' BLUE SHIRT TO MATCH. LL~ D>K <=

Although not a jet style...here is another amazingly beautiful and artisic design of Gerry's.
Was this the same model he flew at the 67 Nats or 68?

Gerry is a fantastic modeler and a great guy. Every one of his airplanes seems to be a work of art.

Has anyone heard from Gerry lately? He and Merry are wonder people>

Jerry and Merrie visit the field once in a while. When he flies, he is still great to watch - extreme accuracy for not being in practice. He's still a club member (North Coast Control Liners) and receives the newsletter, but he has moved quite a few miles east of us.
Below is a page I made up for a newspaper reporter who did a really nice CL article for us (I scanned lots of pictures and articles for him). Jerry and Bill shared the front row in appearance judging with their new planes, a new classic "Patriot" by Jerry, and a "'62 Ares" by Bill. Jerry and Bill did some spectacular flying in treacherous winds that year.

Had to have been a couple of years ago as the two of them have not been to VSC for several years. DOC Holliday

There are nice people, there are good people, there are honest people, there are caring people, some go out of their way, some are openly generous.
Gerry (and Merrie) are all of the above and much more. I am much the better for meeting him. A very class act!

Gerry and Merry visited the Akron field yesterday for the Circle Burners' fun fly. He has been working ('building') steadily on his house for quite a while, but plans to unpack his mostly finished Werewage P-47 and do some flying this season. He is feeling well. I told him that there was a thread about him here with some nice comments. I'll post a couple photos, when we download. He also reports that Todd Lee has been back in his shop again; 'still doing well at Continental, working on his home, and enjoying his two kids.

Do you know if he's going to be at Brodak's this year?
-
Sorry, Matt; I didn't ask him.

After reading about Ed Southwick and seeing pics of him and his beautiful wife, it made me think of Gerald and his beautiful wife. I met them also at one of the VSC's I have attended and have missed them the last couple of years. Looking thru this thread I am surprised there is no picture of the two of them together. I did hear a rumor that Gerry is flying again.

Although it is continually expanding, I'd still like to see an Adamisin family tree.
