Title: Flying Airplanes and Memory Loss
Post by: Leo Mehl on September 02, 2007, 06:56:50 PM
I would like a whole bunch of you old stunt grunts to look at this post objectively. How many of you have forgoten things when you go to the flying field. I know at one time or another I have forgoten at least one item and not always the same item each time. One time it may be fuel or Glo Starter or props and lines. Well I have a good friend that did the ultamate this morning. Now I told him I would not mention his name since he takes me to the field with him. Like most of the flyers at the field they are all younger than me, but catching up.
Anyway we were supposes to leave at 9 am. He was not here so the telephone rang and guess who. He told me this himself and I have no reason to not believe him. He said to me "I was halfway to your place when I stopped to pick up some Diet Pepsi and when I went to put it in the cooler I noticed my plane was't in the car". He said I am home and am now on the way. Whoe. I had thoughts run thru my mind like I can't wait to get to the field so I can tell EVERYONE. I DID- The Devil made me do it.
He needs more friends like me don't you think. we are going flying again tomarrow so I am going to call him and remind him---------------- LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ HB~>

You can cross Art off your suspect list!  I probably would have remembered the plane and forgot Leo.  Seriously however, it is Leo who always forgets and leaves his cameras in everyones cars.

Well, you can cross Richard off the list, Mark.  I live at the field now.  I have a little room in that little green plastic house by the ball field.  The only only thing I forgot was how to get home.

Richard

I did one better. Not trying to top anyone, but proof I'm getting senile. I loaded up the van. l got all the planes, fuel, kit, lines etc. loaded. Then I went in for some breakfast, went out to the garage and started fooling with this and that. By noon I went in for lunch. My wife asked how the flying was.??  Ha, I forgot to even go flying.  LL~ LL~ LL~
Oh Boy, That is really something you don't want to do if you are going hunting in the back country! LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ HB~>

Yesterday I was puting new backplates on my OS's and could not remember where I laid the gasket to one. I huntedall over and no gasket so I knew that I would find it sometime when I wasnt lookin. Sure enough this morning I moved something on the table I was working on and there it was. I laid it back down on the table again and it disapeared. Seams the table is the same color as the gasket. It really don't pay to get old. Avoid it at all cost. No wonder we have heart attacts. It is very stressfull. HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~>

Worse yet....I hear that the same absent minded grunt also put one of his old planes under his car to keep the NW drizzle off the model-------------soon forgot about it, and decided to move his car closer to the pit area and CRUSHED THE CRAP OUT OF IT! LL~
