Title: Crash repair
Post by: Norvaldo on May 01, 2007, 01:24:32 PM
Luckily i had just switched from a razor sharp carbon prop to a wooden one when i was a bit sloppy.
A wool glove helped a lot also.
Doctor did the crash repair in Windy's absence..

   Somehow I fail to see how your battered finger qualifies as the "STUNT GRUNT" of the day.   ???

  Norvaldo;

     This board is where you post the name of someone who has guided you in your modeling career. And why you think they deserve this honor.

     "Shultzie" is right today you deserve it, I wouldnt want that to happen to me either. Enjoy your day in the light.

NORVALDO! After seeing that photo of yours....I would say that we would have to not only put you in charge as administrator of the safety forum....BUT ALSO BE OUR SAFETY POSTER BOY OF THE DAY!
Keep that wound clean...and covered! JUST IMAGINE????
 GADS! How much a high nitro based fuel would STING-N-BURN!

Accidents do happen and like you say glade you changed props. I also think having an accident does not entitle you to anything except to evaluate your methods. I do feel sorry for this to happen to anyone but have learned over the years that most accidents happen because certain proceedures were not followed. What I would do to make stunt grunt for telling this story to the rest of us. It is not easy to admit to all  that your accident did  happen. I think most of us have been there and when we get older we are more prone to making mistakes. Even at my age I have to remind myself that this whirling devish that is on front of the motor can be lethal to fingers and limbs. HB~>

As stated accidents do happen once a a great while.  Usually it is because we get in a hurry or didn't follow procedures.  I still bear the scars of the chunk taken out of my index finger by a 10-4 power point on an OS 25.  John Bender wanted me to go to emergency room.  I refused as I have been cut to the bone numerous times not watching what or how I was starting fiber glas props.  I don't ever plan on using carbon props.  Later,  DOC Holliday

Puting those props up for sale is a good move. It not only hurts when you get hit with a prop but it realy leaves a mark as being something you don't forget about each time you try  to start your engine. not only that but the cost to the doctor and hospital sometimes can be a little on the heavy side.  :X VD~
