These photos of Bob's USA-1 and P-47 were taken 9/19-20 of last year at the Cleveland contest. They have been downsized to limit file sizes for newsletters; so I hope they're clear. If not, perhaps I can retrieve some originals.

I would say he had a great teacher in his Dad, Rollie.  They are both gentleman and I am so glad that Bob is continuing.  Fantastic airplanes they both created.

Bob's flying at the 2009 Nats really impressed me.  He had to drop out of the team trials when allergies caused his eyes not to work right.  He would have done well.

At our September contest (Bob won Classic and Expert, as usual):

Edit: The close-ups are the ones that show Bob's great workmanship and detail.

I remember flying against Bob and Rollie at MI contests in the late '60s, early '70s.  They were a tough team.  Always nice guys to deal with.
