Mine weighs 66 ozs with a 3000 mah 4s that I don't really need...64 oz with a tp 2700 mah
battery which will suffice but I like the no strain 3000 mah. Made my carbon gear, replaced the controls with tom morris all the way through with exception of the bellcrank. reinforced the center of wing with glass, reinforced the landing gear mounting surface. Coated the whole inside of the nose with epon epoxy just in case I get caught in the rain its waterproof.
Iv'e flown the pants off of mine even in 25 mph winds. This one flies great after trimming the outboard weight (tip) and have 1/2 oz of nose weight way up front when I run the 12.5 x 5
wooden pusher brodak prop. 12x6 apc ep I take the 1/2 oz weight out. jim
ps  this is my blue arf...jim

Can we be honest about how much these things weight? Mine came in at 71 ounces. It has a 6s battery and 35mm motor but it needed that to balance right.

Has anyone been able to bring the ARF SV11 in under 64 ounces by any means?

Thanks,

Yes they have

Mine came in at 66 ounces also with all the recommended power components from Brodak their motor/ESC/ timer and 3600 4 cell pack which is quite light also an APC 13 inch prop. I did pretty much the same thing as Jim above Morris controls 1" fiber tape for the wing joint triangle stock gear blocks. Walter

I think most overuse glue and don't sand enough...glue is heavy. Wood is too.

How. 64 without fuel, some kits lighter than others?

I have one here  at 64  and  no it was not picked, it was just one I opened, many other I have talked to have them at 63 to 64, The  electrics  seem to be  heavier, power systems  are  more
and  I do not know anyone  who weighs  with fuel in it

What's the weight of a kit built SV11?
They go in a wide range, good builders have made them as light as 55 ounces, there has been  dozens built at 58 to 60 ounces, others have come out at near 70 ounces, that will depend on how much glue and sealer and  paint you use.
I had one friend build a light SV11 and  after  paint it weighed  74 ounces, he pancaked the plane and  we, cut out the wing, just the wing weighed   27 ounces, it was about 13 ounces going into the plane , that is 14 ounces of paint, I do not use near that for a total finish
Rob just put together a ARC  SV-11  and  put paper and  paint finish, very good very nice shiny finish  and his  came in at 67 ounces.

SV-11 ARC with Stalker 61 RE  WT. is 75oz.  Flys  rather well for being over weight.
