Title: score
Post by: GEOFFREY on October 27, 2007, 05:28:35 PM
If you do a score  do not try to use the 3 piece setup  as the plans show.  i installed as the plan and it buckled  on a fast loop .. i was lucky and missed  by less than a foot. easy fix this am was carbon tube slipped over on both ends ca, and retest ..  Good!! :D :D Geoffrey

Hi Geoffrey,

What 3 piece setup are you referring to? The push rod, or the three piece take apart wing, fuse, and tail?

Throw the Score pushrod and all associated hardware away.. It is basically junk and will cost you an airplane. At least use a CF pushrod and 4-40 Sullivan Gold clevises. I wouldn't even use the Sullivan's on a ship the size of the Score but the odds of a failure are quite a bit less than the junk that came with it.

I replaced everything with mostly Tom Morris controls, Tom's 3 1/2 inch bellcrank fits great and with CF pushrods and ball links I don't have to worry about a control system failure.
