Nobler ARF—which version
« on: May 09, 2013, 09:25:00 PM »
Is the Nobler ARF an exact match to any of the Nobler plans that were issued at different times?

It is very close to the plans I have from the 1957 Topflight kit. I can check to be sure if needed.

The 1957 TF kit is probably the closest to the TF ARF, but there are a lot of differences when you compare the kit plans to the ARF.  The construction is almost completely different, and there probably isn't a single piece in the ARF that would match the old kit plans.  They look about the same, but when you compare the plans to the ARF you'll find many differences.

The biggest difference that I have found is the landing gear length. The ARF is 1 full inch too short. I have had two original TF GB Noblers and both had longer gears than the ARF.

I think the ARF was taken off the plan, which is 1" short, probably to fit it on the plan. IMHO!

Don't forget the air foiled rudder.
