Nobler ARF wing
« on: May 08, 2007, 07:25:08 AM »
Does anyone know if the wing for the Nobler ARF is available from Top Flite/Tower separately??  I have a project that I just need a wing for......

TIA

Bill,

From past experience what Tower does if someone gets a replacement part under warranty Tower pulls it out of a new kit and puts whats left in the scratch and dent section. Guess they choose not to keep up with inventorying the separate pieces. I am pretty sure the only replacement parts available are the cowl and canopy.

Thanks, Bob.  I would like to find a wing!  It would be stripped, new flaps, and the wing tips changed, so all I do need is the basic wing.

Bill,
With that much work on the ARF wing, you might consider ordering a rib set from Eric Rule at RSM and building a wing.  That way you get good wood and it is easier to put in good control mounting and bellcrank.

No Noblers listed this morning on scratch and dent and the current price is about $90 for the entire ARF.  The only parts listed are cowl, canopy, and tank.

Hi Steve,

Thanks, I have a set of laser cut Nobler ribs, but I could do the mods a lot quicker than building a whole wing...... ;D

Well, Lee, I need something to finish in a hurry to break out of my "slump".  I'm not even sure as to what wood I have right now, I would have to dig through and find out.  I appreciate the compliment, but I am butting my head against the "wall" righ tnow...........

  Hey Bill,
Does this mean a Grondal Nobler is on the cards?

You might want to consider a set of 57 Nobler foam cores from Cris Rigotti.  See my post for the Profile Nobler, they build out to quite a nice wing and in very short time.  Weight might be the only down side, but I am sure pleased with the cores from Cris.

Thanks for the idea Andy.  I know Chris does great cores, but I don't even feel like making skins and gluing them on! LOL!!

A member has offered a "used" ARF Nobler wing, and if I can afford it, i will go that route.

Bill about them skins, go over to Lone Start and order of four of the 1/16x12x30 inch pre joined sheets for skining foam cores.  That's what I used and I will never use anything else as long as they are available.  The seams are perfect and there is no ridge from the glue.
