Where can I get one?

There's always Tower Hobby.  Or order one through your LHS, if you have one.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

John, this thread has been helpful for me. I'm piddling with a Nobler arf. Using a new fuse, wing and flaps, and rudder, and parts I salvaged from a wreck. I made a new long rod to the elevator like yours, and am reusing the flap control rod and coupler. The stab/elev is still intact. I've got the bellcrank out for a replacement Sig 3", and I like the way you bolstered the spar. Unless it was already like that. Mine's not, but it will be now. The original bellcrank was a metal thing plated with some rough silvery material. The BC in the wreck is just like it, and had shed that silver junk all over the inside of the wing. A real mess of metal flakes. ::) It had little black wire fishing clips hooking the BC to the leadout eyelets. It jammed every time you moved the controls with the control rod. Imagine slack lines in an OH8, no telling where it would fly off to.

After looking at yours, I'm going to rip some more Kote off the wing so I can work on the spar. Did you cut and replace a whole section of the spar, or just add that shorter one behind it? I wouldn't be able to run the bolt through the top spar on mine in its current config.

Also, what exactly did you do to reinforce the engine crutch? I couldn't tell from the picture.

I enjoyed meeting you at Huntersville... you are Tony, right? Sorry if I'm mistaken. Did you have plane trouble? I was expecting you to be in Intermediate with Me and Mike, Leroy and Brian.

Rusty,

Enjoyed meeting you as well!! Had some Fuel tank troubles and finally replaced it with a plastic tank. Works great now!! I used a piece of 1/4" spruce behind the spar actually used two pieces for a 1/2"x1/4" support I've used this on a couple of planes now with no failures. I removed the sheeting top and bottom, notched the ribs and "sistered" in the spruce. Good luck on your Nobler! And after seeing your Cardinal fly at Huntersville, I got one coming!!

John,

Are you still on the planet?

How's that Nobler coming along?

Tower Hobby has the Robart Incidence Meter $40. Two are really useful, to check for warps. Making your flaps/elevators removeable is a big help in doing this sort of stuff.

Somebody else made a digital version, maybe Hobbico or one of those Tower Conglomerate brands. They finally quit making those. The interesting thing was that if you compared the specifications, the Robart unit is twice as accurate as the fancy digital stuff. I don't know about you, but I prefer to avoid less accurate stuff, especially when there is always the joy of dead batteries at an inconvenient time.

Larry Renger came up with a very slick gauge to put on the prop shaft that is good enough for thrust line, where you want 0* or 1* downthrust...pretty forgiving accuracy compared to incidence accuracy. Somebody with more luck than mine with Stunt Hangar's search function might be able to turn it up and post a link. Basically, an $8 inclinometer with a hand-hewn adapter fitting to bolt onto the prop shaft.  I bought a Starrett, but it was only about $8. Similar to this one, but may not be identical. I don't think it has the magnetic feature.  https://www.zoro.com/starrett-angle-meter-magnetic-base-0-90-deg-am-2/i/G3357977/   D>K Steve
