nobler adjustable lead outs
« on: April 07, 2014, 03:52:18 PM »
I added adj lead outs to my arf nobler...do the lead outs have to exit at the center line of the tip...vertically I mean? ...mine are about 3/16" below the tip. In other words i mounted the adjustable guide to the bottom of the wing tip so they actually are below the tip plate about that much.

The leadouts want to exit in line with the vertical center of gravity (or in engineer-speak, it wants to be level with the center of gravity, which is more than just a fore-aft spot).

Being off by a bit doesn't matter much, and you have no way of knowing if they weren't high before.

The only way to know for sure is to hang the plane from the leadouts and compare how it hangs with a plumb bob.  If the wings are exactly paraller to the plumb bob string, then you're golden.  When you start flying Expert, you should worry about this.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.
