This has been one hard-luck puppy! First the engine set the model on fire, then after repairs, cut out straight overhead, and finally the covering started coming off!  I stripped it and put on Polyspan.  Then for finish, I applied SLC covering right over the raw Polyspan and heat bonded it down.  Worked out fantastic.  The black on the wings is Painters' Choice rattlecan applied over the SLC after a bit of rub-down with wet 600 grit paper. The yellow is striping tape.

I now have the engine straightened out and running on crankshaft timed pressure.  Engine is a stock Medallion with a Galbreath needle assembly and black Cox 6x3 prop.

I am flying on 38' x .008" lines with an RSM hard-point exponential handle.  Fuel is 15% nitro with about 22% oil mix.

Hah! Perseverance matters. This model took 1st place in 1cc Aerobatics at the KOTRC Dale Kirn Memorial contest this weekend. 416 points and the trim is still not "spot on"!

It still needs handle neutral adjustment and maybe a touch of noseweight.
