Post by: Fred Quedenfeld jr on July 15, 2019, 03:04:03 PM
Hi Questions
Which holes did you use for the belcank to flap control horn
I used the top one for the flap and the middle one for the pushrod to the elevator
the elevator has a slot but I did not see A "tee nut'   the Tom Morris "tee Nut" is too fat
How much Up and down should I have ?
thanks

The Legacy kit plans show a 4 inch bellcrank and a bent flap horn with the pushrod from the bellcrank in the top hole which is 1 1/4 inches from the center line and the elevator push rod at 1 inch from the center line. On the elevators the pushrod is in the middle hole or 9/16 from the centerline of the horn wire. That's almost a 2 to 1 ratio so elevator travel is a lot. I have to guess on the bellcrank pushrod being in the middle hole of the bellcrank as it's not shown. That's 3/4 inch from the bellcrank pivot centerline.
My kit built Legacy has 35 degrees down elevator and 30 degrees up with 3 1/4 inch handle spacing. I added a half inch to the elevator span to get it to turn the way I wanted.  Evo .60 power, 62 foot lines.
