Just received the Impact ARC a couple of weeks back.
Parts are just loosely fitted together with tape to show the shape.
Stab, elevator and flaps covered with light Polyspan and Nitrate doped.
Wing & fuselage will be the same with heavier Polyspan.
Hardware is very nice. and everything looks straight.
RoJett .67 in the nose. It will have a shaft extension.
Kitted by Steve M. and designed by Paul W.
I wonder if i should call it MoonWalker Impact.

Baddddd arse...

Progessing.
Still loosely fitted together.
Will keep most of the Polyspan in clear dope.
Balsa fibers show trough nicely, and weight will be lowww.
Rudder is just a try. I have the original intact.
Need some stripes behind and beneath the red.
Most likely blue.
Rudder will also be red and white.
Suggestions welcome.
I am painting parts separately before final assembly.
Will use Stalker .66 or .61 or RoJett .67 or .75 for power.

Why did you change the engine??

Well, i have both the Rojett .67 /or a .75 as well as the Stalkers .66 & 61 as options as they use the same mounting holes.
But the RoJetts are 2 1/2 oz. heavier than the Stalkers and as it looks now, this plane will be very light.
I fear it will be nose heavy with the RoJetts.
I use the one that gets the CG closest to optimal.

The Impact is designed for 40VF. RoJett's weight the same as 40VF.

57 1/2 Oz. of Impact ready for takeoff.

Hi Steve.
It flies exellent. Just need some nice weather to finish the trimming.
Btw. I sent you an order for a second one. :)

Hi Norvaldo,That is a nice looking ship!!I'm anxious to hear flight reports too.
-
It is ready trimmed now.
It flies exellent. Pilet is now the limit, not the model.
I have another one coming from UHP in a few says.

Hi Norvald,
Very nice job on your plane. After watching Paul fly his, I got one as soon as they became available in ARC form.
Does the weight you gave of 57 1/2 oz include full fuel? That is a very good TO weight for this size plane.
-
The weight is without fuel.
Polyspan with mainly clear dope does not add much weight.
I ordered and received one more.
In this one will use a ROJett .67 or .76 on pipe.
..
I also put back the original tailfin.
Needs some more painting.
-
More paint, why? I love seeing the fine woodwork on the planes, especially the wings. The sun shining thru the clear just does something me somehow. Did I say I like your color scheme?
-
It was 1/4 Oz. noseheavy :)
In the spring i will put two white and one blue stripe on the rudder.
Norwegian flag colors ;D

After much deliberation I received my Impact ARC today, I will convert it to Electric using a Plettenburg coupled to an Ice50 esc and a Fm9 Hubin timer,
The quality of the kit looks great at first glance and the service from UHP was first class. Many thanks go to Steve Moon.
Also thanks to Norvaldo for posting so much about his , this certainly helped with my decision.I just need to find time now to put it all together!
Cheers

How bout some good pictures of the parts and pieces....

Tim,
Here is the link to "Ultra Hobbies", the Moon's web site. They have a photo showing all the parts that come in the big box that a brown truck delivers to your door!
As others have said, this is a beautiful ARC. It is light, strong, straight, and smoothly finished. I am very happy with mine. I have built many planes over the years, but I would be hard pressed to build one any better than this excellent ARC.

Hi.
I have another kit not started yet.
Any particular parts you want a closer look at?
I can take pictures of what you like.
Close ups and and overviews.

I just ordered one of their component Noblers. Just kinda wondered if it all looks as good as the pictures do? Cause in the pictures they look awesome. I'd like to get the Impact also. I intend on having a fun summer of stunt flying this year as soon as it gets here. b1

Both the Nobler and the Impact are beautiful. Excellent hardware included.
-
I still have my UHP Nobler ARF still in the box. The construction is so much better than I can do and it is light.
-
In the beginning of this post ( April 03, 2013, 02:45:33 PM ») there is a picture where the parts are just put in place with no glue just to show the look.
It give a pretty good overview of how it looks.
