Title: How can I remove the canopy from a Vector ARC without damage
Post by: Geoff Goodworth on February 17, 2014, 10:42:20 PM
The subject line says it.

How do I remove the canopy from a Vector ARC without damaging it? I have a temperature controlled covering iron but not a monocote trim iron. In fact, I've not seen the trim iron here in the 230v 50Hz environment in Oz.

First, if they used their usual hot melt glue, I'd try a soldering gun with the thin slicing tip. If epoxy, how about a Dremel with an abrasive cutting wheel?

Personally, I don't really like the looks of the stock "razorback" with wide canopy. How about revising the rear deck and either a narrower canopy or a bubble canopy?

Whatcha gonna power it with?  H^^ Steve

Steve, I still quite like the overall lines so I'm not going to rework that. Power will be a Randy Smith FP 35 or FP 40.
