Yeah I've seen loads of comments about upgrading the bellcrank and lead outs of the Brodak planes, but with an ARF I decided that would all be a bit silly (and defeat the purpose of the kit), so I hope it all goes well. Much like yourself, I'm sure I'll probably kill this thing before any problems occur in those areas.

I've found what I hope will be my next plane though. I hope. Not sure if anyone has seen it yet as its only just about to be launched. I found it on here in vendors corner about to be sold by Cremon hobbys. I've also seen it mentioned briefly in CLW magazine. It's called a Chupim60 and I think I'm in love! It can be converted to electric which is the way I want to stay I think, but my only worries are 1. Will I be able to build it and 2. How long will it take me to kill it.

But it looks a real beauty

If you have built any kits at any time you will have no trouble with the "Chupim60" even if the language is in portugese.  I have the "Chupim20" that is still waiting for first flights.   Other than the language the plans are clear.   Cremon is very complete on his kits.

Hi Doc.
That's what Cremon has told me too so I'm optimistic. Just not sure if I'll dabble in the IC world or stick to electric but I'll work that one out. Not sure how efficient electric is with a 60 plane but I assume there are plenty flying them.

I can see you have many years experience, so if you also say they are easy to build them I'm sold even more.

Cheers.

I get the impression that electric may be even more advantageous for larger planes than smaller....
And my c/l mentor keeps telling me that the larger planes fly better period.
I certainly would not let that effect my decision towards e power in a negative way.
Think of the money savings possible on paper towels and spray cleaner alone. :-)

Not to mention not having to smell like an old engine. Although the memories of those smells with my dad almost 40 years ago are what got me into this.

Well, IT's FINISHED!!! (Almost. Just have to connect up the electrics but the motor is in and everything else is done)

It's been a learning experience and I'm sure I have done some things wrong. I'll try to post some pics here for anyone who's interested.

Thanks to all those who have helped me so far. I at be asking for advice on repair techniques very soon  %^@

Cool, best of luck to you.
Just remember this sage advice-
A nose heavy plane fly's poorly.
A tail heavy plane often fly's only once!

Thanks Chris. I'll remember those very wise words. The problem is, as I'm totally new to this, I wont know which one of those 2 it is until its too late!
