Electric ARC Impact
« on: September 20, 2010, 05:22:43 PM »
The Impact ordered from Steve Moon arrived today in perfect condition. It's a pretty impressive looking model. Interestingly, there are no instructions. It's pretty well obvious how it all goes together though, so I suppose if you are ready to fly something like this, you are also knowledgeable enough to put it together.  #^

I'll post some pictures as the electric conversion comes along.

John: There's supposed to be a typed 2 page instruction sheet
included with the kit. The instructions are pretty simple and
straightforward. Sorry about the oversight if they weren't included.

Steve,

Not a problem. I think it's all pretty obvious, barring anything devious  n1 that's in there. The electric conversion is going along OK, the motor is fitted and I'm off to the LHS this afternoon to buy some Ultracote and a spinner. Waiting on new batteries to arrive before the nose can be completed.

I'm not a super builder at the level of PW or Howard.  The level of fit up of most all the parts on this plane is as good if not better in most cases than I would do myself, and if one were inclined to do so, it could be finished out to a very high level.

Other than the electric conversion, the only thing I plan to do is make the elevators and flaps removable. The supplied hinges seem quite free with no binds at all, so I will just push out the pins and replace with music wire.
