Title: Brodak Oriental -Assembly Question
Post by: Denis Downs on November 10, 2006, 06:23:10 AM
Purchased an assembled Oriental with no plans included. Controls are sloppy and I want to 'open it up' to correct the problem. There is a section gluded in place under the wing that joins the wing to the body. Is the bellcrank and flap horn accessable from the bottom, if I remove the lower fuselage panel? I don't want to hack up the plane unnecessarily.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Denis - as far as I know, you cannot access the controls from the bottom. You must cut the top.

BUT----------- how much slop are you finding? If you hold the flaps still and can move the elevator up and down a bit, that's acceptable.

In any case, fly the plane before you cut into it.

Dennis...
Access to the flap pushrod is best through the top....
The elevator pushrod is best accessed through the side of the fuse....I would wager that the elevator uses the supplied clevis...not a good thing.....we have been replacing them with ball links....not impossible even when assembled.
