My winter project is almost done...Strega
« on: January 09, 2014, 04:53:06 PM »
My Strega is about finished. I modified the rudder to better resemble a P-51 and the real Strega. I then put a little bit bigger bubble canopy on it. I also added an under belly radiator scoop and scale wheel pants. I changed the blue front half of the fuselage to red to better resemble the real "Strega" I had custom decals made by Brad at BadBradGraphics.com and I highly recommend him as I have had him make me decals in the past and he never disappoints. I changed the flap control horn from the stock one as I heard there were some problems with its design and after inspection I decided the stock design was not a very good setup. I also setup the control as sensitive as I could because the 2 other Strega's I have flown I thought were kinda doggy on the controls. It will be powered by a Super Tigre .60 and swing a 14x6 prop while gulping fuel from a 7oz uniflow tank.  Also went over all the china-kote seams with clear monokote...ugh hate that part.

Very cool with the extra effort to make it more personal!  I thought you were out of CLPA?

I love it.  That is one really sharp looking model.  Hope it flies as well as it looks.
