Just got a Brodak Baby Clown ARF.  Assembled it in about three hours.  Put on my old Cox Black Widow after installing a factory rebuild kit.  Haven't flown it yet but hope to soon.  It is going to be a fun little airplane.

You should ahve a lot of fun with that set up! y1  The Black Widow will let you do a pretty good pattern with the baby Clown.  Of course, you will have to refuel in the middle! LOL!!

Off topic, is the Johnson running?  I was concerned with the compression being a *little* weak, but a lot of castor in the fuel should make it a runner.

That's OK, here on the Left Coast, we allow pit stops for engines under 1cc.  I won 2nd in 1cc last year at the Goyet contest with a Black
Widow powered model that reqired 2 pit stops, and still made it under 8 minutes. (not by much, and I had Brett Buck for pit crew)

The model is the one you see under my nametag.
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

I just noticed the prop you have on the plane.  If it is an OLD Top Flite, I have found that they are now too brittle to trust.  They can throw a blade!  After having one break in a hard landing, I tried flexing the remaining blade and it snapped in my hand.  Seriously ungood.

It is highly recommended that you get a more modern prop.  An APC 5.7x3 should be a good choice for the Black Widow.

Bill,
The Johnson is still on hold.  I have to finish my kit bashed Twister first then do some work outside the house while summer is here.  My next model project is going to be an RSM Ringmaster.  I may put the Johnson in that it I can get it to run.  If not then a Fox 35 will go in the Ringmaster.  I will keep you posted once I get going on it.

I flew the Baby Clown for the first time yesterday afternoon.  It was hot and windy but the Baby Clown survived the first flights without a scratch.  I got four flights in before calling it a day.  The Blackwidow ran good on Sig 35%.  I used 30' dacron lines.  I think the Blackwidow would easily handle longer lines.
