Title: Brodak ARF covering?
Post by: Target on June 27, 2016, 07:03:02 PM
I recently attained a used Brodak Profile P40, the grey and olive drab one.
This plane is in decent shape, but it is missing a piece of the olive drab covering on one of the flaps, top and bottom. And, it's sort of bothering me, hahaha.

I am wondering if the covering that Brodak sells is the same thing that it is covered with. They have some on the clearance rack.

It certainly does not seem like MonoKote and probably isn't even UltraCote, but I really cannot tell.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks.

Contact Brodaks,  they won't bite your head off.

Thanks John. I sent them an email last night, as a matter of fact.... guess we're on the same track.
I'll post my findings when I get their correspondence.

Chris

Still awaiting an email response from half a week ago.

I usually refer to it as "Chinakote," and it's pretty tough stuff. But they always put the seams in the dumbest places, so every arf needs clear packing tape and scotch tape on the lead edges, trail edges and wherever you see it might depart in mid flight. You're right, it doesn't resemble anything I've bought in rolls.
