Hello,

Have read the tf Score has been discontinued, How long ago did this happen?
I have been thinking of buying one,
Any one in Australia got one for sale?

Not shown in the Tower ads, and they would be. They are very expensive to ship due to the size, so you might consider a Legacy or SV-11 ARC (which may be available, even tho the ARF may not be). The 2 piece wing should be cheaper to ship, and they're much better designs anyway, IMO. Say "G'day" to Dave Simons 4 me.

I think the price of the Score was 109.00 or 99.00 just before it was discontinued, the 250.00 is outragous.

The prices are Australian.....probably quite reasonable...
The Brodak Pathfinder is, in my opinion, the best flying profile ARF around...

Just a heads up to any new, proud TF Score owners. My father had the nose COME OFF of his--motor, firewall, everything. After careful inspection, the nose is tab-and-slot construction and held together with what almost looked like hot glue. It only had 200 or so flights on it. This could be why it was discontinued. Repairs and reenforcements were made and the model is still flyable. Be sure to add some reenforcements and give everything a good coating of epoxy to prevent failure.

The first Score I seen and flew after the second rebuild/reconstruct has a pushrod come apart on first flight. The nose came off after the second flight. Then I think he has almost worn the plane out flying it. It is one good flying plane that flies better than I do.

I do like the look of the SCORE, it seems most of ARF have a few problems,
would the ARF Nobler be a better plane?

In addition to the high starting price shipping would almost certainly make it a very expensive proposition but in case it's interest to anyone "Pegasus Models" here in the UK have some in stock. I Believe the price includes taxes [20%] which I guess you may not have to pay (At least at the UK end) if shipping internationally..

A word of warning for Score owners. A friend of mine has one with only a few flights on it and the nose came off last Sat, just as described previously by Sean. Looks like it could be a common fault. If you have one it would be a good idea to have close look at it and reglue or reinforce the front former attachment to the rest of the plane. Unfortunately the prop of his ST60 chomped thru the wing as it detached making for a difficult repair which may not be worth the trouble.

Yes it is the firewall. The front former, engine mounts, engine and cowl detached from the rest of the nose. Nothing was broken, it looked as though the glue just let go. The firewall is notched to take the ply body sides which could be OK but there is not enough glue, or the wrong glue.

Could it be from fuel soak? I sealed mine up pretty good with epoxy, as the 4-stroke are usually quite messy with the intake in the rear.

Based on my experience you need some tri-stock and slow cure epoxy at the firewall attachment, fuel proof tank compartment, replace the pushrods and lead outs.

Mine has a ST .56, and is kind of porky from a couple repairs, but it is a nice solid flier.

All that being said, if you don't find one then look at some of Brodak's line of ARFs. I like the Oriental, have had 2 and still have one to finish. I've flown the Smoothie and a couple of the profiles, all are good fliers when bAlanced/trimmed.

Powered by a OS LA .46, and it pull tested great on it's 50th+ flight,

and smash!

the bellcrank broke loose from it's mount,

and did a wing over,

and went straight into terra firma!

and exploaded into peices!

my last ARF

I only build from ARC's, and or Boxes of stix, from from now on,

and with a scratch plan build, once in awhile.

You know

A few weeks ago I saw the nose of one TF ARF Nobler coming toward me with no plane attached...
Maybe it's not only a problem with scores, but with ARFs.
I like the Pathfinder very much, but don't think I'll go ARF again...
The covering has been coming off everywhere.

49 1/2 flights. Flight 50 was only three laps,

The Cox Little Stinker was originally $7.95.
Now $235 on Ebay for a virgin.
Better to buy on the first go-round.

The Pathfinder is a great flying ARF! I think I purchased Brodak's last one. Funny the model was discontinued.

I flew the Pathfinder a couple of weeks ago, first flight. Needs some changes/trimming which I did. I'll fly it tomorrow and see how she does.

Only real change was the two wheel aluminum gear instead of tri gear. OS LA 46 powered.

I did not enjoy any part of the assembly. In fact, it was a struggle because of lack of interest.

However, now that the model is built I feel a bit different about it. Fun to fly!

No real loss if you roll them in and I'll probably grab another ARF for my pattern work.

Great for learning the pattern, or just getting it back.

the Score was always an ARF, no kit available fro TFthat I ever herd of, and I have / had 3 different ones.
