Brodak's White or Yellow version SV-11 ARF pic..
« on: October 18, 2011, 02:07:34 PM »
Just wondering if someone could post a pic of the White or the Yellow version of the SV-11 ARF ?   As Brodak is "Out of stock" on all other colors and also the ARC.  HB~>  not sure why they don't bother showing the color choices..  I know I certainly wouldn't buy a car without seeing it in the color I'm looking for. y1

Thanks in advance

Hi Joe.
Isn't the yellow or white just the trim colors?

You can wait for another color scheme to come in but risk the remaining yellow or whites ones being sold out. Or, you can order one of the existing planes and if you don't like it, strip off the trim and redo it. Or strip off the entire covering and cover it yourself. I've re-covered 2 ARFs already.

Or you can order the kit from Randy Smith at Aeroproducts.

I believe that Brodak identifies SV's by their BASE colors....the trim is pretty much the same....
You might telephone them and ask....

Hi Rich,

I have checked when the SV-11 ARF were first made available. the problem was the trim colors are not consistent..

Blue SV-11 ARF:  (Blue on the fuse, blue on the wing.) O.k. that seems logical.

Red  SV-11 ARF: ( Black on the fuse, Red in the middle of the trim on the wing)  now why is black on the fuse and not red?  and why is the red not on the front part of the trim?  or could this be the white one?  as discribed in Brodak website..  On the White SV-11  having black on the fuse.  It should actually be call black.  but there are no black SV-11 list it.

Joe,

Why don't you call Brodak's and ask them what the color scheme is for the white one?

I have emailed them numerous times.

I'd make my mind up soon. Far as I know the source for these ARFs is no longer manufacturing them. With this and that these planes can compete at a very high level. I've seen more than one of these ARCs finish top 20 at the NATs. Very inexpensive way to get into the dance.

I was there. I saw it. But don't wish to say who. Could be flack. Plane was modified in appearance. Qualified as a BOM, since it was an ARC. I really don't wish to say more about this. If someone wants to step forward and say something specific to themselves. Let them do it. Yeah. I said, more than once. I think I'm right about this. But can't pull up the other incident, exactly. Anyway. One in the dance, makes the point. Considering the construction difficulties of building from the ground up, or from a traditional kit, or the expense of building a competition stunter from quality components, wings and such, to compete at top 20, the Brodak ARCs are ridiculously cheap. Perfect no. Like I said needing this and that or that and this. Tho many fly assembled out of the box. Building from components, also very reasonable considering the quality available out there.

John made the announcement a few months past that his source for ARFs and ARCs was no longer available.

I guess the culprit must have been in another class than Dennis M., otherwise he should have protested.   By the way ARC's are legal according to the BOM rule.   It is the ARF's that have been stripped and recovered that are illegal.  And anyone that knows someone is illegal in their class and doesn't protest is just furthering the problem. Like I said the plane was an ARC, therefore legal in Open. No reason to protest.

John,
Are ARCs elgible for full points or partial BOM points?

Thank you

What would be the difference?  ??? ??? I buy an ARC and they run out stock. So I purchase the same components with the covering but take the covering off to make Two aircraft the same. The only difference, the factory did not cover the components on one and on the other they did... ???

Just one of the rediculous rules of stunt.   For me the 10-12 points is  not worth arguing.   Besides the night I gave up the appearance points with no argument was respect for the event director and the corn beef/ cabbage with Irish potatoes was getting cold. H^^

In my opinion if we all would just read the rules and follow them, things woud go a lot better. VD~

Look up the debates on the BOM rule. If you wish to be baffled(?) by a passionate and at times, acrimonious discussion. Others have made the same point about stripping and recovering an ARF, maintaining that there should be no distinction between a stripped, recovered ARF and an ARC. In any case, I believe there is agreement on the following.  A contestant who finishes a model that started as an ARC satisfies the criteria of Builder of the Model.
