Where is a good place for the ARF cardinal CG? The instruction manual gives it as three inches back on the Leading edge Tip or Root? Looks like it is going to take a lot of lead to get it to balance.

Hi Mike,
I like 4 inches from leading edge, at the fuse. I built a small weight box at the rearmost point of the fuse cut-out,
used 1/32 ply for the outboard wall and black Ultra-coat to cover the hole.

Got about 3 ounces of .25" lead wire wrapped around my tailwheel right now. It seems about right. I could loose a lot of that weight by using a tongue muffler and plastic spinner, but I like how well and quiet the motor runs with the stock muffler, and I like the metal spinner for use with an electric starter. I gave the motor and plane a extra special break-in and first flight. Cranked up the LA 40 for the first time and flew a pattern on the first flight for the Airplane and motor. It was big and sloppy as the tail weight was not on it yet.
