No, not an ecologically enlightened Vector ; rather an ARC that has been stored a few months : when first opened there were a few areas where the wood looked a little green (very pale). Now, several months on large areas are turning a distinct pale green. Anyone else had this or knows what it is?

I believe you have the *ultra rare* Krytonite exposed Vector ARC. It possesses magical "Superman" type powers! LL~ LL~

Bill, you have perhaps found the explanation for my recent penchant for dressing in red and blue and wearing my underwear on the outside (perhaps I always did that.....?)

That is the darnest thing I have ever heard of! Is this "green" on the surface or does it seem to be more of a stain? Have you tired cleaning it off (acetone, dope thinner) ir Killing it (amonia, chlorine bleach). Is it possible its some kind of moss???
Is there any green growing in the cardboard box? Does it have an odor? Does it sand off? Is it growing on the hardwood and plywodd parts or just the balsa?

I've had a close look which involved removing most of the components from their original plastic wrapping (not previously done).
The contamination has the appearance of a stain and it has affected all materials including the ply/hardwood parts.
There is no discernible odour/dampness. The box is clean (this has been stored in a dry indoor enviroment).
It seems to be spreading out from the glued joints and the discolouration is heaviest at those points. The puzzle however, is that the flaps (unglued) are also showing faint traces now...
I haven't attempted to clean/sand/dope anything yet. The model was intended as a test bed for finishing techniques including tissue/paint and fibafilm. However, I guess rather than painting it I could just wait another month and give it a mow..... might even win our village "best in bloom " award

Well, since the growing season is over, thought I'd update on the microbilogist's delight that is my Vector : good news is that I've been able to rekindle the childhood pastime of growing watercress on blotting paper but this time it's plane shaped... also got a gold medal at the Chelsea flower show....
Actually, as soon as John Brodak was alerted he offered to replace the model and furthermore offered me an alternative that better suited me (a topiary kit).

Since it is St PAts day time of year I was expecting an article describing painting and you needed help to find "Shamrock" green.

I got one of those too - a green vector that is. Same symptoms.
On my one the bearers smelled like eucalyptus, when I started drilling the engine holes.
Gave the workshop a pleasant aroma.
Not going to stop me flying it though when I'm done.
