Title: 40 FP muffler
Post by: Alan Hayes on July 05, 2007, 08:20:17 PM
I have a 40 FP that you reworked quite a few years ago... still new in box unfortunately...I have several FP mufflers that are with this engine....my question is did you cut the exhaust tubes flush with the muffler cans on these reworks?

Hi Alan,

IIRC, we always used the tongue mufflers on the FP 40s.  And most of the stock mufflers I saw in use had the stinger cut off and the holw opened up a bit.

If I am in error, don't fret......... Randy will jump on me and set me straight! **)

Since the OS 40 FP, Fox 35 and several others will share mufflers, the choices are great!  Makes balancing a *little* easier.

Btw: Randy's CNC machined tube mufflers are outstanding.........

Hi Alan

The only way the stock muffler will work with my reworks is to open up or cut off the tail piece of the mufffler, You can just look at your mufflers and see  if the  ail pieces are removed. some where some were not
I recommend my tongue of  cnc  tube mufflers for that engine

Regards
Randy
